Bhedaghat – Marble Rocks & Dhuandhar Falls

Bhedaghat – The “Mini Niagara” of India

Bhedaghat is a charming town on the banks of the sacred Narmada, only 20 km from Jabalpur. It is celebrated for towering white marble cliffs, the thundering Dhuandhar Falls and ancient temples – making it the most popular day trip from Jabalpur.

Famous attractions

• Dhuandhar Falls – a majestic waterfall whose rising mist looks like smoke, which gives it its name.
• Marble Rocks Gorge – towering white cliffs through which the Narmada meanders, best enjoyed by boat.
• Chausath Yogini Temple – a 10th-century hilltop temple dedicated to sixty-four yoginis, with panoramic views.

Panchvati boating – a mesmerizing ride on the Narmada

Panchvati is one of the best spots for boating on the serene Narmada, surrounded by the world-famous Marble Rocks. As the boat glides between 100-foot marble cliffs that change colour with the sunlight, boatmen share local legends and describe the shapes in the rocks. A peaceful daytime ride or a moonlit boat ride – it is a must-do for every traveller.
