Maa Sharda Temple – a Shaktipeeth of Central India

Located in Maihar, Satna district, the temple sits atop Trikuta hill at about 600 feet and is dedicated to Goddess Sharda, an incarnation of Saraswati – revered as the goddess of wisdom, learning and power.

Devotees can climb around 1,063 steps or take the ropeway, which offers an aerial view of Maihar town. Thousands of pilgrims visit daily, especially during Navratri, when grand celebrations and fairs are held. From the hilltop you can enjoy sweeping views of the Vindhya ranges.
